Questions about pricing
Why is export the paid feature and not the summary?
Reading a summary is the part you can get anywhere — a chatbot will do it if you paste the transcript in yourself. Getting it out as a file you can drop into your notes, or as flashcards you can actually revise from, is the part that saves real work. So that's the part that costs money, and everything you can read on the page stays free.
Is there a limit on video length?
No, on any plan. A four-hour course summarises the same as a four-minute one — it just takes a little longer. Long videos are where a summary is worth the most, so capping them on the free plan would hide the thing most worth paying for.
What happens when I run out of free summaries?
You can upgrade, or wait — the allowance is 3 per rolling 30 days, and the page tells you the date yours comes back. Anything already summarised stays readable either way; a repeat visit to a video someone has already run costs nothing and doesn't touch your allowance.
Do I need an account for the free plan?
No. Paste a link and go. An email is only needed to download a summary, and a card only if you want the paid plan.
What's the difference between Pro and Max?
Not the number — 100 summaries a month is already three a day, and almost nobody gets near it. Max is for running a whole playlist or channel in one go: up to 50 videos, each with its own summary, plus a write-up across the whole series — the throughline, where it repeats itself, and what you know at the end. That last part is the bit no chatbot can do for you, because every one of them is scoped to a single video. If you summarise videos one at a time, Pro is the right plan.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from the billing portal, and you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Refunds within 7 days, no questions.
What does a summary actually cost you to produce?
Between about $0.002 and $0.012 depending on length, and nothing at all when someone has already run that video. We mention it because it explains the pricing: this isn't priced off what it costs to run, it's priced off what the export is worth to you.
